This is an excellent opportunity with a defined market potential and its success will be aimed to commercialise the research in accordance with intellectual property roles given by the project.
The software engineer will work with a motivated team of developers and European partners with a number of different backgrounds to extend the existing web-based dashboard to allow users browsing their consumption by appliance/office/site portion and benchmark appliances within/across buildings. The ideal person will be comfortable with software design, will have great coding skills and will have knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies and databases. Our current working technologies include Ruby on Rails, Javascript, JQuery, CSS and SQL.
The engineer will interact with a number of engineer and scientists to develop algorithms of data mining, energy pattenrs and anomaly detection to be delivered through an online platform for commercial use. The engineer may need to gain knowledge on issues faced by facility and maintenance managers when reducing energy consumption in buildings.
